life transitions - friends comforting each other

life transitions

Life transitions can be positive, such as getting married, going away to college, starting a new job, moving to a new city, or childbirth. Negative transitions include such events as an accident, death, divorce, job loss, or severe illness. Some are planned and anticipated, and some happen suddenly, without warning. Whether positive or negative, stressful life transitions force us to adjust how we live our lives.

Difficult transitions often leave us shocked, angry, sad, and withdrawn. Other times, we may feel fearful or anxious about what will come and wonder if we made the right decision. If this sounds like you, we can help. At A Peaceful Balance, our counselors assist people in developing the coping skills needed to get through difficult transitions. In addition, our counselors can also help you use this time in your life to learn about your internal strengths and define what you want out of life. If you are struggling with a change and need help, visit our About page to learn more about our areas of specialization.
